A Reflection | Learning Spaces

As the end of semester 2 looms in the not too distant future, here's a small reflection on learning spaces and how I have learned to perceive them through the EDFD459 unit.

As a teacher, what impact learning spaces have on your practice?

I think I have a better idea of how they should be implemented in and out of the classroom. I have always known that children learn in different ways, but I now consider the spaces that they learn in also have an impact on this.

What do think learning spaces of the future might entail?

my perspective is that the education system needs to progress along with technology and with it's students and their perceptions of the world. For education to be beneficial to students it needs to address the way life will be like for these kids. I've read before that we're teaching kids skills for jobs that haven't even been invented yet. As a results of EDFD459, what are you going to be taking into your own classroom?

This is difficult because I believe children have different learning styles and therefore will learn differently in different learning spaces (have I said different enough times?). Because of this I believe that the majority of development of the learning spaces in my classroom will come after I have got to know my students.
